My personal life had a heavy impact on my career as a German teacher. I grew up in Germany prior to living in Tehran, where I became fascinated by the comparisons of language and culture. I have always enjoyed working with people and have been teaching German for 14 years. I teach German 1 through 4, as well as test prep, AP German language and culture, and conversational German. My style of teaching has developed to a focus of student learning, in which I interweave various learning and communication styles. I strive to give each student the tools needed to improve their knowledge. To do so, I work to teach each student in a way that is best suited to their needs and abilities. I believe that learning is done best when students and teachers work together to achieve a common goal. My belief is that teachers should be able to demonstrate leadership, encouragement, respect, skill, and flexibility. I use a mix of teaching methods, including communicative activities and games, to make learning German more fun. In my free time, I love to play video games with friends and go out dancing. I also enjoy attending the ballet and reading.
